It is in this office that he spends much of his time preparing sermons to feed the flock that is the membership of First Baptist Church.

A church can be many things to many people. It should be a place of growing closer to God as well as building friendships that will be anchors in the storms of life.

When asked why someone might want to join Central, community is the first thing he mentioned.

It would probably be easy for the members of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Huddle at Crestview High School to stay in bed an extra 30 minutes each Thursday morning.

But each week a group of Christian students arrives at school at 6:30 a.m. to share in Christ and encourage one another.

A chilly fall morning greeted the students at Crestview High School that chose to gather around the flagpole in Jack Foster Stadium at 6:30 on Wednesday, Sept. 28.

The start of the school day was still 30 minutes away, and the sun was still inching its way above the horizon.

It was early October 1922 and Warren Harding was President of the United States. In New York City, the New York Giants faced the New York Yankees in the World Series with the Giants winning baseball’s top prize.

In the sleepy hamlet we know as Baker, Shady Grove Assembly of God was meeting for the first time.
