McGraw leads Lady Gators past Laurel Hill
Many Baby Boomers are likely to remember the cartoon character Quick Draw McGraw.
McGraw was an animated horse that served as a lawman and was the fastest and deadliest shot in the West. The Baker Lady Gators basketball team has its own Quick Draw McGraw in sophomore point guard McKenzie McGraw.
Samantha Kerrell headed to Wallace
Samantha Kerrell has made a college decision. The Crestview High School volleyball senior will be taking her skills an hour north to Andalusia, Ala., where she will play for Lurleen B. Wallace Community College.

Mission accomplished. Crestview used a suffocating defense and timely shooting to down the Panthers 45-32.
Crestview girls soccer ties Washington
When is win not a win? When an official misses what seems to be an obvious goal.
That was the fate of Crestview’s girls soccer team on Monday night when the Lady Bulldogs hosted Washington. An action-packed first 22 minutes of play saw the teams tied at 2-2.
Gators take down Gladiators
Baker’s boys basketball team survived a torrid end to the first quarter by Gulf Pointe Latin on Friday night.
The Gladiators rolled up 15 points in the final 3:30 of the first quarter to lead the Gators 17-12 after the first quarter. The 17 first-quarter points would be more than half of Gulf Pointe’s total for the night.
Hoboes fall to Paxton
An undersized and outmanned Laurel Hill boys basketball team was not match for a larger, more experienced Paxton squad on Thursday night.
The Hoboes dug themselves into an early 17-0 hole and although they turned in a gutsy performance, they couldn’t keep up with the Bobcats. When the final horn sounded Paxton had claimed a 72-40 win.
Baker teammates share final game
A little more than a week after Baker lost in the volleyball state championship, Gator players Kailyn Ellis and Leighton Mitchell were back on the court at the University of West Florida Fieldhouse as members of the East team in the Pensacola Sport Association All-Star Volleyball Classic.
