Hub City officials are partnering with local attorney and landowner J.D. Wingard Jr. on a plan that aims to help motorists avoid a segment of the often traffic-clogged State Road 85.
Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Wilton Simpson and the Florida Forest Service have announced that applications are being accepted for the 2024 Southern Pine Beetle Assistance and Prevention Program for non-industrial, private forest landowners. The program runs through July 26 and includes 44 northern Florida counties, including Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Escambia counties, the southern pine beetle’s known range.
