BISSELL Pet Foundation Announces “Empty the Shelters” Florida Emergency Relief Adoption Event
BISSELL Pet Foundation is hosting a statewide emergency relief “Empty the Shelters” adoption event from Feb. 24-28, 2022. This event is a collaborative effort to support Florida shelters by finding loving homes for pets and providing relief to shelters assisting Santa Rosa County Animal Services after an intake of more than 70 dogs from a large-scale neglect case.
BISSELL Pet Foundation will sponsor reduced adoption fees for $25 or less for cats and dogs. This emergency event will be hosted in more than 12 shelters throughout Florida. The Panhandle Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) Shelter is also participating.

Hotel employee arrested for firing weapon inside hotel, pending termination
A Crestview woman is charged with firing a gun inside a Walton County hotel after business hours.
The Walton County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Hilton located at 4000 Sandestin Boulevard South Wednesday morning, Feb. 16in reference to a shooting that already occurred.

The small city will fund the repairs with $300,000 in legislative appropriations and $100,000 in surtax funds. Okaloosa County will lay the asphalt, with Laurel Hill paying for materials.
