If you’ve been in the wing of Baker School that is home to the media center and auditorium you might have noticed a room with the letters WGTV on the window.

That room is the entrance to the classrooms that are home of the school’s digital video program.

The Florida Criminal Justice Executive Institute announced the graduation of 19 chief executives from the Chief Executive Seminar. The graduates, who represent criminal justice agencies from around the state, serve in leadership roles within their agencies.

A Winter Garden (Fla.) man was arrested in earlier this month following a yearlong investigation into an illegal gambling house being operated in Crestview. According to Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, Lin Zhuo, 56, kept and permitted a gaming room and slot machines at The Lucky Pearl Internet Café, located at 779 North Ferdon Blvd. for the purpose of gambling. The warrant report for Zhou states the offenses occurred from Jan. 18, 2021, to Nov. 12, 2021.

In 2021, precinct lines for the City of Crestview were redrawn because of an increase in population density. This resulted in council members Joe Blocker and Shannon Hayes running against each other in Precinct 1, along with Thara Larkins in the mid-term general election. Before the redraw, they were in different precincts.
