The Crestview High School football team is looking for a bounce-back year in a newly aligned District 1-6A.

Coming off an impressive showing in the Kickoff Classic with wins over Northview and Pleasant Home, Baker’s football team now sets its sights on the regular season opener.
The Gators hosts Florida A&M High School at 7 p.m. tonight at Doug Griffith Memorial Stadium.

The 2024 volleyball season didn’t get off to the start Baker was hoping for even if a loss to 6A Pace might not have been unexpected.
The Lady Gators looked strong coming out of the gate taking the first set. But one set does not a match make as the Lady Patriots took the next three sets as Baker lost 25-21, 17-25, 14-25, 23-25.

Baker’s defending Class 1A state champion volleyball team picked up it’s first win of the season on Thursday taking down Walton in four sets by scores of 25-20, 22-25, 25-9 and 26-24.
“I feel really great (about the win),” Lady Gator coach Chelsea Medley said. “We came out great in the first (set) and we got overly confident and a little cocky in the second. You can’t do that.

The Crestview and Baker football teams are always stocked with plenty of talent. This fall will be no exception.

The Crestview senior receiver now finds himself entering what might be the last season of his football career. As the 2024 season approaches Friday night, he’s trying to take it all in stride.

Football is officially back this week as Crestview opens the 2024 season at home against Milton. Game time at Jack Foster Stadium is 7 p.m. The Bulldog senior football players will be honored prior to the game.

The Panthers lost to Choctaw 28-0 in their Kickoff Classic at Hurley Manning Field.

As far as Kickoff Classics go, Thursday’s contest between host Crestview and Class 2A power Catholic, was at best, a form of football.

It might be premature to declare that Baker’s football program is back after a Kickoff Classic, but it’s not too early to say the Gators are heading in the right direction with Matt Brunson back calling the shots as the head coach.
