The sport of tennis has made a major impact on the Crestview community, and much of that is due to the success of Crestview High School’s tennis team.


With schools like Davidson, Shoal River, and Pineview Middle Schools also participating in the sport, TopCat Tennis Academy decided a tennis camp was the perfect way to sharpen athletes’ skills.

The Baker Gator volleyball team traveled to Crestview on July 21 for a summer, exhibition scrimmage matchup against the Bulldogs.


It was the first game situation that Baker has been in this year, and Crestview’s opposition provided a good measuring stick for where the Gators currently stand.

The Crestview volleyball team hosted their fifth “Volleyball Kids Camp” this past week.


What started as a way of getting players prepared for the upcoming season has branched out and taken root in elementary and middle school girls.

What started as an idea in Baker girls’ basketball head coach Demieka McClendon’s mind soon became a reality.


With inspiration from some of her summer basketball players, McClendon decided to bring a Basketball Clinic to the Baker School gymnasium.

Basketball is one of the prime sports in Laurel Hill, if not the prime sport. With very few sports under the Hoboes’ athletic program, the community surrounds the boys’ and girls’ basketball teams, and the kids look forward to playing on the same court one day.


For coach Carl Henry, this sparked an idea.

With tryouts approaching quickly, the Crestview volleyball team has yet to be announced.


With a large influx of younger players, head coach James Kerrell and his Bulldogs hosted a summer scrimmage against Baker last Tuesday to get a better understanding of who fit where on the court.

Head Coach Chris Bell has a deep history of coaching experience under his belt.


With 24 years shared across Destin, Niceville, the Florida Dream Travel Basketball Team, and teams across the globe, coach Bell begins his next journey as the boys’ basketball coach at Laurel Hill.

Laurel Hill’s volleyball team has consistently progressed throughout the years under head coach Kasey Campbell.


After being hired in 2022, Campbell and her Hoboes have increased their wins year after year. Having retained many of its players, Laurel Hill looks to make the 2026 season a positive one.

Baker’s volleyball program has been top-notch over the years under the guidance of current head coach, Chelsea Medley.


After 22 consecutive Rural District 1 volleyball titles, Medley continues to build upon the program with her Middle School Volleyball Camp.

Flag Football has proceeded to grow over the years in high school and college, while breaking ground with a professional league in 2027 and debuting in the 2028 Olympic Games.


Doing their part to grow the sport and keep kids active, Crestview Parks and Recreation hosted their second year of Flag Football Camp.
