The Crestview girls’ basketball team was back in action for their third game of the summer last Monday.


The Bulldogs have been working hard to improve over the summer, and a 70-41 victory over Baker is a move in the right direction.

Zy Tassin has been working hard this summer in preparation for his senior season at Crestview.


That hard work paid off early as Tassin committed to playing football at Wake Forest University June 10.

The weather did its best to rain on Crestview Parks and Recreation’s second week of soccer camp, but nothing was going to prevent getting community kids active.


Whether it was inside at Twin Hills Gymnasium or out on the damp soccer field, 29 campers showed up ready to get better.

Crestview Parks and Recreation has been busy this summer as they continue to host varying camps for children to attend during their summer break.


This past week, children ages 7-13 participated in Volleyball camp from June 15 through June 18.

The Laurel Hill Hoboes boys’ basketball team has had a very busy summer so far this year.


After traveling to Troy and Auburn, the Hoboes visited Paxton to participate in the back half of the “Summer Play Day” this past Tuesday.

This past Tuesday the Baker boys’ basketball team traveled to Paxton to participate in the Bobcats “Summer Play Day”.


The Gators gave a preview as to what the 2026-27 basketball season may look like after going 3-0 on the day.

The heat has been extraordinary early this summer with temperatures still on the rise for the upcoming months.


As for Crestview’s football team, the Bulldogs aren’t letting the weather affect them as they began week three of summer workouts this past Monday.

The Crestview Crusaders swim team hit the water early this past Friday as they held their “Splash for Cash” fundraising event.


Not only did the athletes of the team get a full workout, but they also held true to their word in fulfilling pledges made by donors.

The pool is a great place to cool off during a hot summer day. A nice cold drink, maybe a hotdog in hand.


But for the Crestview Tiger Sharks, it’s the environment of generating champions.

The FHSAA Board of Directors voted unanimously by a 10-0 count on Tuesday to approve the open division for the postseason in several sports.


The top eight teams, regardless of classification, will be a part of its own tournament starting this school year for football, basketball, volleyball, soccer, baseball, softball, flag football and lacrosse.
