Bulldogs hot start turns cold
The Crestview baseball team had a long 25-game spring season. The Bulldogs started the season with four straight wins but turned cold at the end winning only one of their last five.
In their final game of the regular season, Crestview hosted the Hebron Christian Academy Lions out of Georgia. A close game soon got out of hand as the Bulldogs lost 7-2.
Crestview handles out-of-state opponent
The Crestview softball team has been on a hot streak as of late, winning four of its last five games. Their most recent victory came last Wednesday after hosting Todd County Central.
The Bulldogs came out a little flat, but soon enough their bats came to life for a 7-1 victory over the Rebels.
Baker lifts their way to Regionals
The District-1A Weightlifting meet happened this past Wednesday at Baker. Tough competition from Jay, Pensacola Catholic, Central, and Destin showed up to lift their best weight at a chance to qualify for Regionals.
However, the 2025 state runner-up Gators took majority of the top spots and were crowned District Champions.
Baker’s Angel in the Outfield
It was a little over a year ago when Baker School senior, Kadance Fredericksen tragically passed away. That same year, Baker’s baseball team held its first “Angel in the Outfield” in honor of Fredericksen.
Last Tuesday, Baker lifted up Fredericksen’s name once again as they hosted the Central Jaguars.
Baseball district tournament brackets released
It’s been a long baseball season for 2026, but it’s finally coming to an end. As the regular season wraps up, postseason play is next and the district tournament brackets have been released.
The Rural District 1 Tournament will take place at Central High School, and the District 1-6A Tournament will be played at Pace High School.
A look at the latest FHSAA regional softball rankings
In the first FHSAA regional rankings of the month, Crestview is the only one among the top teams in its respective region.
Baker softball staying alive for districts
The Baker softball team has been performing well as of late, winning their last two games over top regional and district opponents.
After a 10-0 loss to number two ranked Northview, earlier in the season, the Gators were seeking a better performance at home last Monday. What started as a close game soon got out of hand as the Gators lost 13-0.
Hard work pays off for Crestview Weightlifting
After their performance at the Navarre Invitational, the Crestview boys’ weightlifting team knew work needed to be done before districts.
The fruit to their labor bloomed to an impressive performance Saturday, April 4 at the District 1 3A meet in Pace.
Eighth Grader Night returns to Crestview
Each year, the Davidson Middle School softball team and Shoal River Middle School softball team meet at the Crestview High School softball field to celebrate the eighth graders who will begin their High School journey next fall.
Since both schools transfer to Crestview High School, the game is held on the Bulldog softball field to give the players a feel for the environment.
Laurel Hill rallies to win double-header
It was a full day of baseball last Thursday in Laurel Hill as the Hoboes hosted Samson and Atmore Christian.
Game one was a three-hour long marathon, but the Hoboes crossed the finish line with an 18-17 walk-off win. The Hoboes took their momentum into game two and won 14-4 in five innings via run rule.
