Crestview girls tennis finish historic season
After placing as runner ups in the District 1-3A tennis tournament on April 14, the Crestview girls’ tennis team advanced to compete at Regionals.
The girls took to the court in Tallahassee last Tuesday where they were pitted against 11-4 Chiles. Crestview’s girls fought hard, but the road ended after a 4-0 loss.
Crestview represents at District 1-3A track meet
The Crestview Track and Field team competed at Pine Forest in the District 1-3A track meet on April 18.
Crestview had six top three finishes on the boys’ side, and three for the girls, with one from each being crowned champion.
Crestview makes run in District Playoffs
The Crestview flag football competed in the District 1-3A flag football tournament this past week.
The Bulldogs advanced to the semifinals after defeating Navarre 31-12 but couldn’t get past Niceville to compete in the finals.
Baker’s offense explodes for 18 hits
The Baker Gators hosted Holmes County this past Monday for their final game of the regular season. As of April 7, Holmes County softball was ranked fourth in the FHSAA Rural Region 1 rankings, with Baker ranked seventh.
In a must-win scenario, the Gators’ offense exploded to put Holmes County away 13-9.
Laurel Hill walks the walk
The Laurel Hill softball team hosted Pensacola Catholic on Thursday. It was a back-and-forth game with neither team knowing who would take home the victory.
Pensacola Catholic tied things up in the top of the seventh, but Laurel Hill put it away after a walk-off win 9-8.
Baker unable to advance
The Baker varsity baseball team competed in the Rural District 1 baseball tournament this past week. After beating Paxton 16-1, the Gators advanced to the semifinals where they took on Northview for the second time this season.
Looking to avenge their regular season loss, the Gators pulled all the stops to try and reach the finals, but Northview’s offense was strong and put Baker’s season to an end with a 14-2 final score.
Crestview flag football wins on Senior Night
It was Senior Night for the Crestview flag football team this past Monday. The Bulldogs were up against a tough opponent in Fort Walton Beach, but the girls weren’t going to be bested by the Vikings.
Crestview took their second win over Fort Walton Beach with a final score of 13-0.
Baker goes the distance at District 1-1A track meet
The Baker Gators track and field team has been on the road all season with the construction of their new football field keeping them from hosting home meets.
This didn’t stop the Gators from competing at the highest level, and they proved that this past Tuesday at the District 1-1A track meet in Jay.
Hoboes’ baseball season comes to a close
The Laurel Hill Hoboes set two goals before the start of the baseball season. One, beat Paxton, and two win a district championship.
The Hoboes accomplished one of those goals, but the district championship was put on hold after a 17-2 loss to Central in the opening round of the tournament.
Bulldogs caught in the sand
The Crestview beach volleyball team had their hands full this past Tuesday as they hosted top district opponent Gulf Breeze. The two teams last met a month ago on March 12, with Gulf Breeze winning 5-0.
The Bulldogs put up more of a fight this time around, but the Dolphins proved why they’re number one with a 4-1 victory over Crestview.
