There was plenty to smile about for the Crestview Lady Bulldogs softball team after Friday night’s game with Northview. Crestview continued its late-season surge with a 5-1 win over the Chiefs to close out the regular season with an 11-11 record.

There was plenty to celebrate as the2022-23 Crestview Lady Bulldogs basketball team reunited for one final time on Thursday. The varsity finished the year with a 21-8 record, won the district championship and advanced to the Sweet 16 in Class 6A.

Baker baseball enjoying standout season

It’s been a magical season for the Baker School baseball team.

The Gators had an 11-7 record as they prepared for their April 20 game at Pensacola Christian Academy. Having previously beaten three of the five teams they had left before the District 1-1A tournament, Baker was on track to win the most games since the 2009 team went 14-12

There’s plenty of work to do for the Baker football team as it opens spring practice on May 1. The Gators will conclude spring drills on May 16 with the Maroon and White game.

Barry Gardner, now in his second year as the Gator head coach, can look at this spring as being one of obstacles or opportunities.

Bulldogs ready for spring football

Crestview head football coach Thomas Grant isn’t getting around very well these days after having surgery to repair a broken ankle and some ligament damage.

But even slowed by injuries, the second-year Bulldog boss is ready for things to get started on Monday when teams across the state open spring football practice. Crestview concludes spring practice with a spring game against Pensacola High School at 6 p.m. on May 19.

Baker blasts Rocky Bayou

A magical season for the Baker School baseball team continued on Tuesday. There was nothing fancy or dramatic about the performance of the Gators against Rocky Bayou Christian. What there was though was good pitching, solid defense and a team swinging the bats very well.
