It’s time for the FHSAA state girls weightlifting meet
Area 1A and 3A girls weightlifting teams are set to compete in their respective state meets Saturday at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland.
Pace goes into it as the reigning two-time state champion in Olympic and traditional in 3A. Navarre and Milton are expected to have strong showings at state as well. Central, Crestview and Baker have lifters competing in the 1A meet.

North Okaloosa County baseball round-up
It was a busy week for North Okaloosa County baseball programs as Crestview High School played two games, while Laurel Hill played one.
The Bulldogs went 1-1 as they lost in their season opener to Mosley on Feb. 10 by a final of 4-1, before they came back to beat Navarre by a final of 8-7 in extra innings on Feb. 12.
Baker baseball shows potential in first week of season
The Baker baseball team showed just how good it can be in a win over Rocky Bayou Christian on Feb. 13.
Baker scored multiple runs in four different innings as they run-ruled the Knights, 10-0, at home to earn their first win of the season.
Bulldogs boys basketball falls in regional quarterfinal
A promising season for the Crestview boys basketball team came to an abrupt end on Feb. 12, as the Bulldogs fell on the road in a regional quarterfinal to Forest High School by a final of 67-57.
With the loss, the Bulldogs end their season at 19-6.
