Talented Panthers up next for Bulldogs
Once again, the Crestview football team is looking for a bounce-back win.
The Bulldogs, who are coming off a disappointing 38-26 loss at Mosley last Thursday, host Milton on Friday in a 7 p.m. game at Jack Foster Stadium.
Baker football team travels to Freeport
There’s another road test waiting for the Baker football team on Friday as the Gators travel to Walton County for the second time this season.
Baker’s first trip across the county line didn’t go well as they Gators lost to South Walton. This week they are at Freeport for a 7 p.m. game hoping for better results.
Gators advance to district finals
Baker’s volleyball team continued its march to a 20th consecutive district championship on Tuesday beating Northview in three sets 25-6, 25-17, 25-11 in the District 1-1A tournament semifinals. The Gators face Jay in the championship match on Thursday evening at 6:30 at Central High School.
“I think we came out a little bit headstrong,” Gator coach Chelsea Medley said. “We lost a little bit of focus in the second set, but regained it in the third.”
Heidi Sheikho shines for Crestview volleyball team
Listed at 5-foot-7, Heidi Sheikho, who might be closer to 5-foot-5, does not fit the blueprint for an outside hitter in volleyball.
But when she leaves the floor for a powerful jump serve or kill, it’s easy to see why she excels on the court.
Blountstown has eye of Tiger in win over Gators
Every fear Baker football coach Barry Gardner had about Blountstown came true on Friday night. The Tigers showed their speed, size and athleticism early and often in a game that was as lopsided as the score indicated.
For the record, that score was 35-0.
Mosley bullies Bulldogs
It was Thursday Night Football high school style for Crestview when the Bulldogs traveled to Panama City to take on Mosley at Tommy Oliver Stadium.
The Dolphins were as good as advertised, or at least too good for the Bulldogs to spot them points early. Unfortunately for Crestview, that’s exactly what happened.
Tucker Martin making up for lost time
t’s been a tough 11 months for Baker football player Tucker Martin.
Martin, a senior, injured his knee late last season. He underwent surgery shortly after the 2021 season ended and has been working his way back ever since.Gators host Blountstown on Friday
The Baker football team takes to the field of Doug Griffith Memorial Stadium one final regular season game in 2022 on Friday when the Gators host Blountstown. Game time is 7 p.m.
The Tigers enter the game with a 4-3 record. The Gators are 5-2. The one common opponent is Northview and both teams lost to the Chiefs.
Bulldog swimmers show improvement
The Crestview High School swim team hosted Rocky Bayou Christian and South Walton in an exhibition meet on Saturday.
No official results were kept, but Bulldog head coach David Hernandez thinks the team has made a lot of improvements throughout the season, especially considering it’s only the second year of the program and his first year as coach.
Bulldogs win final home volleyball match
Crestview’s volleyball team took to the home court a final time this season on Monday against a scrappy Walton team.
A year after winning just two matches, the Bulldogs were looking for their 11th win of the season and to keep the momentum going heading into the district tournament.
