Laurel Hill School has a rich history of volleyball excellence. Unfortunately, that excellence has been hard to come by in recent years. The last time the Hoboes were in the state tournament was 2017 meaning the season ended in the district tournament.

Most of the girls from North Okaloosa County playing for the East All-Star volleyball team on Tuesday were playing their final match other than intramurals or recreation leagues.

We’re writing this the day before the United States’ men’s team plays Iran with a berth in the knockout round of the World Cup at stake. Look, America’s not a soccer country – not yet. Many curious onlookers and casual fans complained vehemently about the Yanks’ 0-0 tie against England’s Three Lions the day after Thanksgiving, days after a 1-1 draw against little Wales in their first group-stage match.

High school basketball fans received their money’s worth and then some as the Crestview boys hosted Tate in the season opener.
The game was tight from start to finish with the finish coming after an overtime period. When the final buzzer sounded the Bulldogs survived to take the 67-61 win.

The Baker Lady Gator basketball team opened the 2022-23 season in impressive fashion on Monday night against Northview.
Powered by a stifling defense and timely offensive, Baker rolled to a 36-9 win over the Chiefs.

The 2022 Crestview Bulldog football season was one of might have been moments coupled with unbelievable under first-year coach Thomas Grant.

It was the best of the East against the best of the West as senior volleyball players took the court for one last high school match on Tuesday at the University of West Florida Fieldhouse.

The Pensacola Sports Association All-Star Volleyball Match featured an East squad, made up of athletes from Santa Rosa and Okaloosa Counties, and a West team featuring athletes from Escambia County.

Crestview High School’s 2022 football season came to an end Friday night in the semifinal round of the Region 1-4S playoffs.

The scoreboard was still on late Friday night as Baker head coach Barry Gardner, fighting back tears much the way his players were trying to do, gathered his team near the far end zone and talked about the curtain lowering on the season.

Now in his fourth year coaching the Laurel Hill girls basketball team, Carl Henry believes this could be the year the Hoboes start the return to their former glory.
