Pickleball courts open at Twin Hills
When the people of Crestview talk, the city government does its best to listen and accommodate the request of the citizens.
One thing people have been talking about across town and the United States is pickleball. As the people of the community made their voices heard desiring pickleball courts, the city responded building two at Blackwater Golf Course.

Richards baseball tournament cancelled
Crestview High School baseball coach Tim Gillis has announced the cancellation of the 2023 Justin Richards Scholarship Baseball Tournament.
Weather was the culprit in making the decision.

Lady Bulldogs lay foundations during summer workouts
At this time last year Connor Williams was an assistant coach for the Crestview High School girls basketball team helping his father, Steve Williams, with the Lady Bulldogs.
When Steve accepted a job at Paxton a few weeks later, Connor was promoted to head coach. All Connor did in his first season was lead the Lady Bulldogs to the district championship and the second round of the playoffs.

Pickleball 101
For those that might be uninformed, don’t look now, but pickleball is the fastest growing sport in the country. It is estimated that almost five million people now play the sport worldwide.
And Crestview is joining the pickleball craze. There are now eight city-owned courts in Crestview. Two are at Blackwater Golf Course and the other six recently opened at Twin Hills Park.

Justin Richards tournament starts Thursday
Early each summer the Crestview High School baseball team celebrates one of its own that left too soon.
The Justin Richards Scholarship Baseball tournament has been a fixture on the Bulldog summer schedule since 1996. The tournament helps raise money for a scholarship honoring Richards, who was a senior on the Crestview baseball team when he lost his life in a car accident on January 20, 1996.

Brandon Reyes prepares for next step in soccer journey
Brandon Reyes graduated from Crestview High School on May 25. And as they are fond of saying at CHS, “Once a Bulldog, always a Bulldog.”
Reyes will continue his soccer career at Holmes Community College in Goodman, Miss., in the fall. Fittingly enough, Holmes also has the Bulldogs mascot.

Gators set to return to the practice field for summer workouts
The Baker Gators played their spring football game on May 16. They will return to the field for some workouts on Monday, June 12.
