Crestview tennis team continues progress in 2025 season
Crestview High School’s tennis program continued to show the progress they have made as they split the boys and girls matches against Choctaw on March 12.
The Bulldogs won on the boys side, 6-1, while the girls team dropped a close decision, 3-4.
Cooley making strides in both tennis and pickleball
Growing up in Georgia, Tristan Cooley knew from a young age that he had a future in tennis.
Cooley, who has two uncles who played tennis professionally, started his tennis career at the age of three.
Baker athletic programs named Academic Team Champions
Four athletic teams from Baker school were named as Academic Team Champions by the FHSAA for the winter sports season.
Any FHSAA member senior high school who has a team grade point average of at least 3.0 or above is eligible to be chosen for the Academic Team Champion award, which recognizes teams in each classification with the highest GPA’s.
Hoboes continue to fight in tough season
Despite having a 1-6 record early in the year, the Laurel Hill baseball program continues to play hard.
That remained evident in a 15-2 loss at home against Florala on March 11.
Bulldogs roll through recent competition in beach volleyball
After dropping a match to Gulf Breeze, 5-0, on March 3, the Crestview beach volleyball team has responded well to the defeat.
First, they knocked off Choctaw on the road to earn a 3-2 victory before defeating Walton at home the next day by a score of 5-0.
City of Crestview night set for June at Blue Wahoos Stadium
The City of Crestview and the Pensacola Blue Wahoos will come together for “City of Crestview Night” on Jun. 5 at Blue Wahoos Stadium, the city announced on their official Facebook page on Mar. 4.
Crestview Mayor, J.B. Whitten, will throw out the honorary first pitch prior to the game while Chevon Corlew-Coleman, a Crestview native, will sing the national anthem.

Gators softball falls short against Destin
The Baker softball team rallied late, but ultimately fell short at home against Destin by a final of 11-9 on Mar. 3.
Destin held a six-run advantage through four innings, but then the Gators struck back.

Laurel Hill baseball coach William Barton took a moment to address his team in the second inning of a 26-9 loss against Baker on Mar. 3.
After the Hoboes had just surrendered 16 runs defensively in the top of the frame to trail 21-3, Barton gave his team a specific message.
Crestview beach volleyball drops home match to Gulf Breeze
The Crestview beach volleyball dropped their first match of the 2025 season to reigning state champion, Gulf Breeze, by a final of 5-0 on Mar. 3.
Gulf Breeze who went 22-0 last season, defeated the Bulldogs 2-0 in every set.
