Voisin wrapped up his collegiate career at the University of South Alabama this past season and announced his plans to go pro on New Year’s Eve.

Area junior and senior athletes are starting to commit to schools to continue their athletic careers in college. Some have even signed already.

One last high school football game was played Friday as the East battled the West in the Pensacola Sports Association All-Star Game.
The West prevailed 3-0 on a chilly evening at Pine Forest.

Marcus Patterson went to the Conference USA championship game a year ago with Western Kentucky when the Hilltoppers were on the losing end of a 52-12 loss to Jacksonville State.
Fast forward a year later and the story of the championship game had a much different ending for the former Crestview standout, who transferred to Kennesaw State and helped the Owls win their first title in program history.

Crestview’s girls weightlifting team competed at the Navarre Invitational last Friday afternoon and finished third overall in Olympic and traditional at the highly competitive meet.
