Amaya DeLeon came away from the FHSAA 3A state weightlifting meet with a top five finish in Olympic.

It was the baseball season opener in Baker last Monday as the Gators hosted the Laurel Hill Hoboes in a district showdown under the lights.

Growing up, most kids dream of the opportunity to play football at the next level. To move on from high school Friday night lights to college Saturdays and get one step closer to playing at the professional level.


That opportunity arose for Crestview varsity football player Sean Johns.

Baker hosted Central in the rural district 1 tournament Thursday with a chance to advance to the finals for a second year straight.


A game not just between two teams, but two fan bases, giving Baker’s rivalry with Jay a run for its money as Baker won 55-52 in overtime.

The Crestview Bulldogs revisited the Niceville Eagles in the first round of the district 1-6A tournament last Tuesday.


An opponent that the Bulldogs had previously beat two weeks ago, but a 59-54 final score favored the Eagles.

Round one of the Rural District 1 tournament tipped off last Tuesday in Laurel Hill as the Hoboes faced off against the Jay Royals.


The Hoboes couldn’t get it going as their season came to an end, losing to Jay 61-52.
