Bulldogs take down Braves
There were plenty of basketballs to go around for the Bulldogs on Monday, Jan. 30 as the Crestview High School boys basketball team hosted Walton.
Led by Makhi Jones’ 13 points, nine Bulldogs scored as Crestview took down the Braves 59-47.
Lady Gators claim district weightlifting titles
Once again Baker’s Lady Gator weightlifting team flexed its muscles on Friday in the District 1-1A meet.
Baker won both the Olympic and Traditional events to improve to 7-0 on the season. The Lady Gators scored twice as many points as their closest competitor, which happened to be Freeport, in both events.
Indians too strong for Bulldogs
Sometimes the ball doesn’t bounce your way. Such was the case for the Crestview High School boys basketball team as the Bulldogs hosted Okaloosa County rival Choctawhatchee.
Layups and shots in the paint bounced harmlessly off the rim. Three-point attempts, that seemed destined to find the bottom of the net, rimmed out. And the Indians did their share to disrupt the Bulldogs.
Bulldogs tame Tigers
Crestview had yet to score almost three-and-a-half minutes into Thursday’s boys basketball game with Pensacola High.
The Tigers weren’t exactly setting the court on fire either. A layup by Jonah Carter gave PHS a 2-0 lead.
Lady Bulldogs to host softball camp Feb. 18
Crestview Lady Bulldog softball coach Michelle Howard wants to grow the program into a contender for district, region and state championships.

Baker traveled to Laurel on Tuesday for high school boys basketball action between the North Okaloosa rivals.
Quick score by Gators Kayleb Wagner and Dustin Nixon gave the Gators a 5-0 lead in the first minute of action as Baker took the tip off to final horn win. The final score was 58-42.
Bulldogs outlast Patriots
Crestview High School’s boys soccer team finished out the regular season at home against Pace on Friday in what was a defensive battle.
For more than 70 minutes the defenses on the respective teams were unrelenting in turning the opposition away.
Jay overpowers Lady Gators
Sometimes, especially at the high school level, life lessons are more important than a win. If an athlete is fortunate enough to have a coach that will dish out some tough love, they have a head start in life.
McGraw leading the way for Lady Gators
One glance of the statistics for the Baker Lady Gators basketball team and one name stands out.
McKenzie McGraw leads the team in almost every category of importance. She leads the team in scoring, steals, assists, blocks and rebounds. She is second on the team in shooting percentage. And the best part, said Baker coach Chelsea Medley, is McCraw is just a sophomore.
