County wants closed beach by Marler Bridge reopened
Okaloosa County officials plan to ask Eglin Air Force Base leaders to reopen the East Pass beach, next to the Marler Bridge by Destin, and allow the county to manage it.
On Tuesday, the County Commission agreed to have board Chairman Paul Mixon send a letter of intent about the county’s overall proposal to Eglin officials.

A special day for a special lady
Crestview resident Estelle Felgenhauer Day received an early birthday present from the Okaloosa County Commission on Tuesday.
That’s when the board approved a proclamation declaring Jan. 29, 2024, as “Estelle Felgenhauer Day” in Okaloosa County to commemorate her 95th birthday and extraordinary life.
