With a record of 2-9 and facing one more game before the spring break, the Crestview baseball team played a pivotal game on the road against Milton on March 14.

Four athletic teams from Baker school were named as Academic Team Champions by the FHSAA for the winter sports season.

Any FHSAA member senior high school who has a team grade point average of at least 3.0 or above is eligible to be chosen for the Academic Team Champion award, which recognizes teams in each classification with the highest GPA’s.

Despite having a 1-6 record early in the year, the Laurel Hill baseball program continues to play hard.

The City of Crestview and the Pensacola Blue Wahoos will come together for “City of Crestview Night” on Jun. 5 at Blue Wahoos Stadium, the city announced on their official Facebook page on Mar. 4.

Crestview Mayor, J.B. Whitten, will throw out the honorary first pitch prior to the game while Chevon Corlew-Coleman, a Crestview native, will sing the national anthem.

Last Friday, I attended my first signing ceremony for a high school athlete in the area.

It had the usual pomp and circumstance that is associated with an event like that.
