The Baker boys weightlifting team will host their biggest meet this Wednesday, Feb. 19, as they welcome 10 teams to Baker for the 15th annual Oliver’s Nursery Invitational.
The meet will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the Baker gym.
Area 1A and 3A girls weightlifting teams are set to compete in their respective state meets Saturday at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland.
Pace goes into it as the reigning two-time state champion in Olympic and traditional in 3A. Navarre and Milton are expected to have strong showings at state as well. Central, Crestview and Baker have lifters competing in the 1A meet.

The Bulldogs went 1-1 as they lost in their season opener to Mosley on Feb. 10 by a final of 4-1, before they came back to beat Navarre by a final of 8-7 in extra innings on Feb. 12.

A promising season for the Crestview boys basketball team came to an abrupt end on Feb. 12, as the Bulldogs fell on the road in a regional quarterfinal to Forest High School by a final of 67-57.
With the loss, the Bulldogs end their season at 19-6.
The ball bounced and rolled around the rim twice before sinking in the hoop.
As the three-pointer from Chipley went in the basket, it took the air out of the building and Baker’s title hopes along with it.

There are many noticeable differences between beach volleyball and indoor volleyball.
Besides the change of scenery, beach volleyball is played with only two players at a time which instead of the normal six per side.
