Volleyball teams in the area begin district tournament play next week and a lot is at stake as winners receive an automatic bid to the regional.

Laurel Hill’s cross-country teams competed at the Wildcat Invitational on Oct. 4 at the University of West Florida.

Crestview’s cross-country teams made a good first impression in the first ever Gulf Coast State High School Invitational in Panama City last Friday.

Emery McGriff started running as a seventh grader, trying out for the track team and then eventually getting into cross-country running as well.

Pace has moved up to third in the latest FHSAA regional football rankings in 6A and Milton is fourth in 5A. Baker is also in the mix for a postseason berth the Rural classification.

Less than a week remains until district tournament play begins and several area teams are in the mix for a postseason berth.


Jay is ranked second in Rural in the latest FHSAA regional rankings while Baker is fourth. Pace, winners of 12 in a row, is eighth in Region 1-6A.

The host Baker Gators came into Friday’s game against Northview without a loss this season.


The usually competitive Chiefs had earned just one victory during the 2025 campaign.

In a far cry from last week’s blistering, 34-8 loss at Pace, Crestview took it to Pine Forest, scoring the first 33 points of the contest.
