4-H Forest Ecology Course starts strong
The 4-H program in Okaloosa County has kicked off a new program, their Forest Ecology Course.
This course, open to youth ages 5-18, teaches about tree identification, forest health, wildlife identification, forest habitat, plant identification, conservation and more!

A bright new sign now sits on Highway 85 directing people to Laurel Hill School and publicizing school and community events as well as the accomplishments of LHS students.
The project has been several years in the making and the ribbon cutting and dedication of the sign was held on Monday, Oct. 3.

Crestview Dazzlers ready to hit the field at home opener
When the Crestview Dazzlers take the field on Friday night at Jack Foster Stadium for the Bulldogs’ home opener against Pace, it will be their first performance since Meet the Bulldogs night almost a month ago.
The performance also marks the official start to the season for the Dazzlers, who perform at all home Bulldog football and basketball games.

Crestview museum dedication is Sept. 8

For more than 20 years, the Crestview Historic Preservation Board has been looking for a place in which to establish a museum devoted solely to the county seat. At long last, the historic Bush House will open Friday, Sept. 9, to share Crestview’s remarkable story.
The Big Red Machine’s half time show to be out of this world
Jody Dunn’s face lights up when he talks about Crestview High School’s Big Red Machine Marching Band.
The Big Red Machine is a fixture at Crestview football games, and Dunn, the longtime band director, has made sure to work closely throughout the years with the Bulldog football coaches to coordinate when the band plays during the game and how he and the band can help the team and fire up the spectators.
