Some of the best of Crestview’s best athletes were honored on Friday when the 2023 Crestview Bulldogs Sports Hall of Fame were inducted into the elite club.
A trio of Bulldog baseball teammates that graduated in 2013 made up almost half of the eight-member class. Dakota Dean, Roman Donofro and the late Derek Lovelace were members of two district championship baseball teams. All three went on to play baseball after high school.

A quick start and a solid finish was just what the Crestview football team needed on Hall of Fame Night on Friday.
The eight new members of the Hall: Samanatha Boudreau Andrew, Dakota Dean, Roman Donofro, Donquel Dorsey, Barry Koehn, Derek Lovelace, Charles Mercer and Curtis Reynolds were introduced at halftime. And the 2023 Bulldogs did their part to make add to the special evening beating Gulf Breeze 35-21.

There are no moral victories in sports, even when a 1A team gives a 6A team all it wants.
Baker is the 1A team and Crestview the 6A team. The North Okaloosa County neighbors met in a backyard volleyball battle in Baker on Thursday.

Coming off a 35-7 loss to South Walton last week, things might not get any easier for the Baker football team on Friday.
The Gators travel to the south end of Okaloosa County to take on the Destin Sharks in a 7 p.m. game.
