Hoboes aim to take a step forward this volleyball season
Kasey Campbell received her first taste of being a head coach a year ago when she took over a Laurel Hill volleyball team that she played on as a high school athlete.
As is the case with every first-year coach, there was a learning curve as the Hoboes finished with a 3-13 record. Campbell believes things are look up though as she adjust to coaching players in 2023.Gators host Seahawks in 2023 opener

It might not have been the way Crestview volleyball coach James Kerrell drew things up prior to Tuesday’s match with Washington, but he had no complaints with the end results.
A scrappy Lady Bulldogs team dug deep to take out the Lady Wildcats 3-1. Scores were 27-25. 25-22, 20-25 and 25-20.

The wait is almost over for the official start of the high school football season.
The first game of the 2023 season on tap in Okaloosa County takes place Thursday night when Crestview welcomes a talented Rickards squad from Tallahassee to Jack Foster Stadium.
Avery Price sets the tone for the Lady Bulldogs
Now a senior, Avery Price is one of the leaders on the Crestview Lady Bulldogs volleyball team.
The 5-foot-10 inch outside and middle hitter was on a team that won two matches in 2021 and improved to 13 wins in 2022.
Gators make strong showing in Kickoff Classic
The next time the Baker football team takes the field will be at Doug Griffith Memorial Stadium on Aug. 25 for the season opener as the Gators host South Walton.
If Friday’s Kickoff Classic against a talented Northview team is any indication of how Baker will do against the high-flying Seahawks there is reason for optimism for Gator fans.
Young Bulldogs get taste of varsity football in Kickoff Classic
The Crestview football team traveled to Escambia High School on Thursday for a Kickoff Classic that was more a situational scrimmage than a practice game.
Each team had the same number of plays on offense. Each possession started from the same designated spot on the field at the start of the alternating possessions.
Ates commits to play volleyball for St. Leo
Chloe Ates is a senior libero on the Baker School volleyball team with no plans on stepping away from the sport any time soon.
The Lady Gator stalwart already has scholarship offers from Gulf Coast State College in Panama City and St. Leo in the Tampa Bay area. St. Leo is a NCAA Division II program that competes in the Sunshine State Conference.
Baker grad Devan Miller takes over Gator cross-country program
Devan Miller feels right at home at Baker School. And for good reason. He graduated from Baker in 2016 and was a member of the track and cross-country teams.
He now teaches at his alma mater and was recently named the school’s cross-country coach to go along with his duties as an assistant coach on the track team helping with the distance runners.Michael Foley anchors the Crestview line
Crestview head football coach Thomas Grant is quick to heap praise on senior center Michael Foley.
“I don’t say this lightly, but he might be the most important person on our team,” Grant said. “He touches the ball on every play. This is a guy that I have that has been a three-year starter.
