We sometimes forget that it’s 2022, not 1992, and that the world of college athletics, especially the football landscape, has changed in ways we could have never imagined a few decades ago.

I have a lot to learn about Crestview. I have been listening to your meetings online and I know that you are a vibrant and growing community that has a lot of the same issues as other cities, but you also have a personality that uniquely your own.

I’ve seen my share of Navarre athletic events that involve a game or a match or a meet against Crestview, but rarely is anyone there to cover the Bulldogs in action.

In some ways it is a sign of the times in journalism. The dedication to covering events and covering them well just isn’t the same in the 21st century.
