I felt as if I took the final step of my journey home on Thursday night when I covered the Paxton at Laurel Hill boys basketball game.
I’ll admit my first two loves in sports have always been baseball and football or football and baseball. My favorite of the two might depend on the time of year or simply how I feel on any given day.
Win or lose, this U.S. men’s soccer team deserves our support
We! We believe! We believe that we can win!
(At least, we hope we did….) We’re writing this the day before the United States’ men’s team plays Iran with a berth in the knockout round of the World Cup at stake. Look, America’s not a soccer country – not yet. Many curious onlookers and casual fans complained vehemently about the Yanks’ 0-0 tie against England’s Three Lions the day after Thanksgiving, days after a 1-1 draw against little Wales in their first group-stage match.

Today is the first day of the last month of 2022.
If you are like me, you’re probably wondering where the year has gone. The next few weeks will be filled with all things Christmas and New Year from the joy of spending time with family and friends to the stress of getting year-end projects finished at home and at work.

It is no secret that Google has secured a near monopoly in the search and local advertising world.
However, the impact on newspapers hasn’t been quite as obvious.

If you missed the recent Alabama-Tennessee football game, you missed what many are considering the best college football game, not only of the year, but in several years.
There was more drama in the game than a cliffhanger episode of the old primetime soap, “Dallas.” The game had bad guys and heroes. There was an ebb and flow that left fans from both teams holding their breath.

In September 2020, she found a lump in her breast.
She was taking a shower like any other day. She wasn’t examining herself, she just felt it. She immediately burst into to tears because in some ways, this was the day she had been dreading since 1995.
