Randy’s Report
With the start of a new year, I thought I’d do a little JIC (just in case) research.
The JIC I mention is local teams or athletes making it to a state championship and the distance coaches, athletes, local media members and fans would have to travel to those championships.
Community unites after horrible tragedy
We live in a strange time in American history.
Despite all the advances we’ve made medically, scientifically and technologically, we seem more divided as a nation than we have in a long time.

There’s nothing like a new year to bring hope.

A recent kerfuffle over residents’ right to speak at a nearby county commission meeting got us thinking about public forums and their place in our representative democracy. It started when new Santa Rosa County Commission Chairman Colten Wright, at his very first meeting in charge, announced he was moving the public forum from the beginning of the meeting to the last spot on the agenda.
Out and About
As I go to meetings and listen to meetings in Santa Rosa County and now Okaloosa County, I realize how valuable it is to know what is going on in two counties, not just one.

I ran across a documentary about basketball legend “Pistol” Pete Maravich on YouTube the other day and it reminded me of how good a player he really was.
