Clarence Thomas shows how Supreme Court’s rejection of ‘Affirmative Action’ is a fitting Fourth of July Victory
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.” On July Fourth, we celebrate much more than our independence from Great Britain. Our Founding Fathers risked their lives and reputations in the American Revolution to establish a government based on universal, permanent principles of justice.”

Randy’s Report
There’s an old joke about two little old ladies that decided to go to their first baseball game.
Neither ladies knew anything about baseball more than three strikes and the batter is out and when a team makes three outs that team goes to the field and the other team bats.

Think you know what is in the school libraries?
Who knew at some point in time we would be discussing sexually explicit books allowed in our school libraries? And yet, here we are.
Thanks to the group Moms for Liberty, based out of Melbourne, Florida with a chapter in Santa Rosa County and now expanding into Okaloosa County, the public has been made aware of sexually explicit books in our school libraries.

I believe there is a part of us all that aspires for greatness. There’s another part of us that is in awe of greatness.
That awe of greatness or fame is the only way I can describe the feeling of intimidation we might get when meeting someone famous or outstanding in his or her field.

For God’s Sake: Heard of a lonely person? Reach out.
Angela Goodman of Vancouver, British Columbia, wrote: It was Christmas, 1968. I had just emigrated from England to Canada, and I didn’t know a soul.
As Christmas Day approached, I felt homesick and lonely in a strange city. Being of the Jewish faith, my family never really celebrated Christmas, but mother always cooked the traditional kosher turkey. No tree or presents. We only listened to the Queen’s message.

Crestview Commons opening hindered by lack of turn lane
The first businesses at Crestview Commons started opening last week, among them Aldi and Planet Fitness.
We are excited about Crestview Commons. Its selection of businesses, which includes Ulta, Marshall’s, Burlington, Five Below, Chili’s and Chipotle, are great picks for the area and offer something for just about everyone.

Summer has lost its luster
When I was younger, this was my favorite time of the year.
School was just letting out, I had the summer ahead of me to go to the pool, play outside, go to summer camp and enjoy the weather. I’m grateful to have the winter weather behind me, but summer doesn’t have the same appeal to me now as it did back then.
