Jehovah’s Witnesses holding special presentations in Crestview
In the face of widespread economic strain, national conflicts and social unrest, surveys indicate that confidence in the future is at an all-time low in many countries, including the United States. According to the 2023 Edelman Trust Barometer, 24 of the 28 countries surveyed are seeing “all-time lows in the number of people who think their families will be better off in five years.”

‘D Now’ weekend encourages students to be bold in their faith
Tyler Eanes and Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Baker are on several missions. The mission most important to Eanes, the student pastor at the church, is to reach young people for Jesus and equip them as disciples for Christ.
One of the ways the church does that is through an annual D Now weekend held at the church with outreach in the community.

Crestview area churches organizing an Easter sunrise service
On Sunday, April 9, clergy from Crestview and surrounding communities will offer an Easter sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. at the pavilion at Old Spanish Trail on Stillwell Boulevard.
The service will begin with a call-to-worship song led by combined choirs from several area churches and led by Pastor Sherrell Compton from New Life International Worship Center. Crestview Mayor JB Whitten will then make welcoming remarks, followed by an opening prayer by U.S. Air Force Chaplain (Retired) Rob Suggs.

Campton Assembly of God seeking to be a northern light
With an average attendance of 70-75 on Sunday morning, Campton Assembly of God is, as Pastor Ray Johnson put it, “Kind of like the old TV show, ‘Cheers,’ where everybody knows your name.”
The church is located on Highway 85 N, six miles south of Laurel Hill and seven miles north of Crestview High School.

Open Door United Methodist Church emphasizes ‘radical hospitality’
Not all members of First United Methodist Church of Pace agreed with leaving the UMC umbrella, including its pastor, Mark Lilly.
When the leaders of his congregation elected to “disaffiliate” and rebrand as Grace Methodist Church in November, Lilly and members of his staff accepted the challenge of building a new UMC congregation.

Suspected drunk driver crashes into Presbyterian Church
A suspected drunk driver has been arrested after crashing into the First Presbyterian Church of Crestview in the early morning hours of Feb. 18. The driver failed to negotiate the turn on southbound State Road 85 at the intersection of U.S. Highway 90.
Paul B. Carroll, 38, of Crestview, was arrested on the scene and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol resulting in an accident with serious bodily injury, according to a Crestview Police Department media release.

From Crestview to Corvallis, Oregon, and all parts in between, the service will be pretty much the same. The same prayer book will be used, the same scriptures are read and the same order of worship followed.

The Shepherd’s Church, a community of family
Pastor Jeff Childers admits the Shepherd’s Church might have an identity crisis, at least as far as location.
“We are technically in Milligan, we have a Baker address, and we are right outside of Crestview,” said Childers, the teaching pastor of the church.

New Life International Fellowship celebrating 30th anniversary
Sister Sherrill Compton has been with New Life International Fellowship Church from the beginning. That beginning was 30 years ago on Mother’s Day 1993 when along with her late husband, the Rev. Douglas Compton, the church was started.
