Chambers announces scholarships for Okaloosa students
The Okaloosa County School District and Superintendent Marcus Chambers are offering two students a chance to earn a 2-year Florida Prepaid scholarship.
Students are eligible if they are a senior, attend a public high school in the district, are looking to pursue a career in education, and meet the basic requirements to hold a Florida Prepaid College Plan.

Lakewood Christian School students dazzle in Christmas production
It was a night to remember for students of all ages at Lakewood Christian School on Dec. 19.
Students ranging from Pre-K to high school participated in the school’s Christmas program at Praise Power and Compassion Ministries in Crestview, featuring classic songs such as “Joy to the World” as well as the production of their play, “We Three Spies.”

Angiletta fostering life-long relationships as teacher of year
Desiree Angiletta, Shoal River Middle School’s teacher of the year, has always wanted to be an educator. However, life was not easy for Angiletta.
Tragedy struck in the fifth grade when she was injured in a car accident, leaving her to be home bound for three months. Angiletta broke her femur, a severe injury that caused her pain both physically and emotionally.
