Crestview native named to SRU’s dean’s list for spring 2023
Joshua Gearhart of Crestview has made the dean’s list at Slippery Rock University for the spring 2023 semester. The dean’s list consists of SRU undergraduate students who earned an adjusted semester grade-point average of 3.5 or higher, based on a schedule of at least 12 newly attempted and earned credits.

Crestview High School’s Class of 2023 honored at ceremony
The Crestview High School Class of 2023 celebrated graduation last Thursday night with 482 newly minted alumni taking part in the ceremony before a packed house at Jack Foster Stadium.
Dignitaries in attendance were Okaloosa County Superintendent of Schools Marcus Chambers, School Board Chairman Tim Bryant and Okaloosa County Commissioner Paul Mixon.

Mott finds success at Laurel Hill
Brianna Mott, the second highest graduate in the Laurel Hill Class of 2023, went through a variety of educational experiences early in her school life.
The last five-and-a-half years though Mott has been at Laurel Hill School. Before coming to Laurel Hill she attended school across the country and around the world having gone to school in New Mexico and England.

Some students attend school in the same town throughout their education and share memories with friends they’ve known since kindergarten. Other students come to a community or school while in elementary, middle or the first years of high school. Things are different for many students growing up in military families.

Crestview valedictorian Tyniyah Haughton seeks a life of serving others
Crestview High School valedictorian Tyniyah Haughton will soon leave the security of her hometown of Crestview and embark on the adventure that will be her life.
She is a product of the Okaloosa County School District and has attended Crestview schools throughout her life. She started at Antioch Elementary School in kindergarten, went to Riverside Elementary, Shoal River Middle and finally Crestview High School.

Baker honors this year’s top underclass students
Baker School took a break from the rigors of year end testing on the evening of May 9 to honor the academic achievements of the underclasses.
The top academic achievers in grades 9-11 were recognized for achieving grade point averages of 3.75 or higher. Because the school has a weighted average, several students surpassed the 4.0 mark that in times past represented straight As.
