Riverside Elementary kindergarten teacher Jessica Black earned the “Thank A Teacher” award from HCA Hospitals for the month of April. She was walking out of her classroom to get her students back from lunch when she noticed Superintendent, Marcus Chambers, and other members of the Okaloosa County School District public relations staff headed her way.

Students, faculty and parents at Bob Sikes Elementary in Crestview were on hand to see the unveiling of the new cafetorium at the school last Tuesday. Okaloosa County School Board members were also in attendance, as well as superintendent Marcus Chambers.

It was a special day on Friday, March 28, for two members of the Crestview High School community. Seniors, Hadley Broome and Heather Hansen, were both recipients of the Superintendent Scholarship, which was provided by the Okaloosa County School District and Superintendent, Marcus Chambers.

The Okaloosa County School District Title I Department, alongside Beachside Community Church, will present a free, in-person for parents and guardians titled “Parenting Through Emotions”, which will take place on Friday, April 11 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The event will be held at Beachside Community Church (200 Racetrack Road NW, Fort Walton Beach).
