On Dec. 14, “National Treasure: Edge of History” premiered on the Disney+ streaming service. The television series, which is a continuation of the “National Treasure” movie franchise, will have a familiar face in it for some Crestview residents. Alyssa Matthews, 24, a Crestview native, is featured on the show and has recently garnered roles in upcoming movies, acting alongside Hollywood stars like Zac Efron and Nicolas Cage.

Anyone that has attended a Laurel Hill home athletic event in the last 15 years has seen a friendly man dressed as a Hobo. That man is Mike McVay, the pastor of First Baptist Church of Laurel Hill.

Sunny weather greeted Veterans Day parade goers as they lined Main St. on Friday to honor those who have served and are now serving our country. Junior ROTC troops from Crestview High School and Baker School were on hand as well as Veterans Chapters from various organizations.

Make plans now to attend the Second Annual Cops and Bobbers Fishing Rodeo from 8 -11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19 at Twin Hills Park in Crestview. The event is sponsored by the Crestview Police Department. The event is open to children and youths up to age 16.
