William Sloan picked up this summer right where he left off in the spring. The Baker School product won the district and regional championship in the boys javelin for his club track team, Emerald Coast Track Club, with marks of 171.11 and 175 feet.

In the heat of the summer of Florida, it is easy to cut corners during workouts. Even as the Crestview football team begins workouts around 9 a.m., the heat index could be nearing 100 degrees.

In the early morning heat of summer, the Baker football team is getting ready for the 2025 season. The Gators practiced three times a week during the month of June with the first hour in the weight room, followed by an hour on the practice field.

Both the Crestview and Baker volleyball programs have unveiled their 2025 volleyball schedules. The Gators open their season with a road match against Freeport on Aug. 26 before back-to-back home games against Northview and Choctaw.

Aundreea Penn played well last season with the Crestview girls basketball team. She averaged 5.8 points and 2.3 rebounds per contest for a program that made the district semifinals.

The college offers kept rolling in for the Laurel Hill girls basketball team. Arlana Williams, the team’s point guard, added her first offer from Reid State Technical College in early June.

The Crestview High School baseball program hosted the 29th annual Justin Richards Scholarship Baseball Tournament on June 10-12. The tournament helps raise money for Richards, a former Crestview senior baseball player, who died in a car accident on January 20, 1996.
