New Life International Worship Center in Crestview broke ground on a new fellowship and school hall last Saturday. Senior pastor Sherrell Compton gave her opening remarks to those in attendance, followed by a prayer from associate pastor, Reginald Washington Sr.

The Rev. Roy C. Marien of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Crestview has a unique history with the Catholic Church. Marien grew up in Fort Walton Beach as part of a military family and was baptized Catholic at the age of seven.

Since at least 2010, Woodlawn Baptist Church in Crestview has hosted the Young at Heart group for senior adults. The group meets on the first Thursday of every month and has around 15-20 members who come in the morning and stay to eat lunch as a group.

The Crestview community came together for a day of fun at the inaugural “Hearts and Crafts” market on Feb. 14 at the Crestview community center. Molly Gray of 4:8 Physio in Crestview put on the event with all proceeds going to “Heart of the Bride”, a Christian non-profit group based out of Niceville.

For as long as he has been as a pastor, Dr. Stan Lewis, the lead pastor at First Baptist Church, has been trying to reach the next generation of believers. Lewis, who grew up in Pace and can trace his roots back in Northwest Florida for five generations, has always been a member of a church.

During the weekend of Feb. 15, students from all around Crestview came together for Disciple Now, which was hosted this year by Emmanuel Baptist Church.

The program is a two-day event for sixth through 12th grade students to gather to worship and seek connection with God.
