The weather couldn’t have been better for Skate Jam as the sun shone brightly on the park. Skaters of all ages showed up ready to lay down their best trick while Kawaii AF out of New Orleans performed live music on stage.
With live music blaring, the energy from the spectators was electric while skaters warmed up to compete. Skate Jam hosted a competition for both the best trick and best 60-second line. Although the park was crowded during warmups, it quickly cleared for skaters to have their individual time skating for the competition.
With competition started, spectators could enjoy food from Freedom Dogz, T’s Cajun Snow Balls and other vendors while they sat under the shaded awnings to keep cool.
The event ran from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. and concluded with the handing out of trophies and $350 worth of cash prizes going to the top skaters.
