Crestview Beach Volleyball season wrap-up
The Crestview beach volleyball team had their season come to an end on April 27 after a 4-1 loss to Bishop Kenny in the Regional Quarterfinals of the FHSAA 2A Region 1 tournament.
The Bulldogs 2026-27 played out similarly to their 2025-26 season but without an appearance in the District 1-2A championship.
Baker softball season summary
The Baker softball team is made up of seven freshmen, two sophomores, and five junior players.
Despite the youth of this roster, the Gators put together a 9-12 season while going 5-3 in the district before the season ended on April 28.
Aiyana Dixon going for Gold
Aiyana Dixon is ready to take on State once again after a successful 2026 season throwing shot put. The Laurel Hill senior placed first in five meets this year and took silver at the 1A Region 1 track meet on May 1.
Now, she looks to improve upon her performance from last year’s FHSAA 1A State track meet.
Baker has successful first week of spring training
The Baker football team began preparations for the 2026-27 football season last week after holding their first set of spring practices.
The Gators suited up in half pads and bared the heat as they look towards having another successful fall season.
Crestview High School appreciates their teachers
The title of ‘teacher’ is described as, “a person who helps others acquire knowledge, skills, or values, typically working as a professional instructor in educational settings like schools,” but in reality, they are “world changers”.
Four Gators going for glory
The rain at the 1A Region 1 track meet was nothing compared to the adversity Baker’s track and field team had to overcome this season.
Even in the unconventional weather, four Gators punched their ticket to compete at the FHSAA 1A State meet in Jacksonville.
State qualifiers for 1A and 3A track athletes
The 1A and 3A regional track meet at Pine Forest happened this past weekend starting May 1.
1A competition had to be carried over into Saturday due to inclement weather, but Baker and Laurel Hill both had athletes advance to state. Crestview also competed Saturday for 3A, with two athletes qualifying for state competition.
State Weightlifting starts this week for 1A and 3A
FHSAA State weightlifting is happening this week, and Okaloosa County is represented in both 1A and 3A competitions.
3A competition will begin on Thursday, while 1A lifters will have to wait until Friday before putting on their best performance.
Gators return to Lakeland
After competing at the Regional 1A weightlifting meet on April 24, the Baker Gators earned another trip to Lakeland for a shot at a state championship.
Baker will have eight lifters traveling to the RP Funding Center in Lakeland to compete on May 6.
Crestview football holds first week of spring practices
The Crestview football team hit the field this week for their first set of spring practices.
Dressed out in half pads, the Bulldogs still trained at full speed to prepare for the upcoming fall season.
