Baker’s volleyball team knows, because of its reputation, every opponent is going to take its best shot.


That includes rival Jay, who the Gators faced Tuesday night.

The Crestview Bulldogs, at home for the first time and coming off a bye, hoped to bounce back from a season-opening overtime loss to Milton when they played Choctaw Friday night.


But the Indians had upper hand, taking advantage of miscues and found strength in their running game and defense to win 28-0 at Jack Foster Stadium.

Justice Baldwin wanted to make a big play early for the Baker Gators. And he did just that.


On the Gators’ opening drive against Central Friday night, Baldwin found Austin Stanley on a long pass play that resulted in a touchdown.

Devin Voisin suffered a knee injury two years ago, derailing his opportunity to build on what he had achieved the year before on the football field when he earned All-Sun Belt recognition at the University of South Alabama.


Last season, he got back at it and produced a solid year. But with his final season of college ball on the horizon, the former Crestview Bulldog is poised to have his best year yet.

Madi Muse made the jump to collegiate weightlifting this past year, competing for Mars Hill in North Carolina.


The former state champion from Crestview said it was a beneficial experience.
