Crestview’s baseball team opened the season in disappointing fashion on Tuesday falling to Lynn Haven Mosley 13-0.

If Bulldog coach Tim Gillis was looking for any bright spots, he was hard pressed to find them as the game was called after five innings because of the run rule.

Another trip to the Class 6A Final Four will have to wait at least another year for the Crestview High School boys basketball team.

The Bulldogs were on the road at Ponte Vedra in the Region semifinals falling to the Sharks 57-49. Crestview finishes the season with a 20-9 record.

Some of the strongest athletes in the Panhandle took to Baker School Wednesday for the Northwest Florida Invitational.

Navarre won the meet, but Crestview and Baker both had strong showings in the season’s first meet.

Trailing visiting Ponte Vedra Nease 31-22 with less than seven minutes to play, the Crestview High School boys basketball could have folded under the pressure of the 6A regional quarterfinal game.

As Madi Muse prepared for her final lift of the day, an attempt of 175 pounds on the clean and jerk, fan support for her was not in short supply inside the R. Marion Craig Coliseum in Port St. Joe.

Family, friends and teammates cheered from the stands. Her coach, Alex Pottinger, shouted words of encouragement. And a few of the Navarre lifters crouched down outside the competition area cheering on Muse.
