Blountstown has eye of Tiger in win over Gators
Every fear Baker football coach Barry Gardner had about Blountstown came true on Friday night. The Tigers showed their speed, size and athleticism early and often in a game that was as lopsided as the score indicated.
For the record, that score was 35-0.
Mosley bullies Bulldogs
It was Thursday Night Football high school style for Crestview when the Bulldogs traveled to Panama City to take on Mosley at Tommy Oliver Stadium.
The Dolphins were as good as advertised, or at least too good for the Bulldogs to spot them points early. Unfortunately for Crestview, that’s exactly what happened.
Tucker Martin making up for lost time
t’s been a tough 11 months for Baker football player Tucker Martin.
Martin, a senior, injured his knee late last season. He underwent surgery shortly after the 2021 season ended and has been working his way back ever since.Gators host Blountstown on Friday
The Baker football team takes to the field of Doug Griffith Memorial Stadium one final regular season game in 2022 on Friday when the Gators host Blountstown. Game time is 7 p.m.
The Tigers enter the game with a 4-3 record. The Gators are 5-2. The one common opponent is Northview and both teams lost to the Chiefs.
Bulldog swimmers show improvement
The Crestview High School swim team hosted Rocky Bayou Christian and South Walton in an exhibition meet on Saturday.
No official results were kept, but Bulldog head coach David Hernandez thinks the team has made a lot of improvements throughout the season, especially considering it’s only the second year of the program and his first year as coach.
Bulldogs win final home volleyball match
Crestview’s volleyball team took to the home court a final time this season on Monday against a scrappy Walton team.
A year after winning just two matches, the Bulldogs were looking for their 11th win of the season and to keep the momentum going heading into the district tournament.
Laramie Boykin gives her all for Laurel Hill volleyball
Junior hitter Laramie Boykin has emerged as the heart and soul of the Laurel Hill volleyball team under first-year coach Kasey Campbell.
“Laramie has a lot of fire,” Campbell said. “Laramie wants to be here. Laramie wants to win.”
Thursday Night Football: Crestview at Mosley
The Crestview High School football team kicks off this week’s schedule on Thursday when the Bulldogs travel to Panama City to play Mosley in a key Region District 2-4S game.
Game time is 7 p.m. at Tommy Oliver Memorial Stadium.
Bulldogs slip past Chiles
With less than four minutes left in its game in Tallahassee against Chiles it looked as if the Crestview football team’s run of hard luck might continue.
The Timberwolves had kicked a field goal to move in front 17-15 and the Bulldog fans that made the 170-mile trip to east had to be wondering if the football gods would rain on their parade again. But things were different on Friday.
Wagner, Gators too strong for Royals
Baker traveled to Jay on Friday to renew the football version of The War on Highway Four with a simple plan, run the football. And run the football is just what the Gators did.
Baker did not attempt a pass while running for 296 yards on 38 carries. Not surprisingly, senior running back Kayleb Wagner led the way with 26 carries for 224 yards and scored all four Gator touchdowns in the 28-0 Baker win.
