Hub City’s Christmas Parade rocks Main Street
Farmers, bikers, school bands, a beauty queen, first responders, members of businesses and nonprofit groups, church members, dancers, elected officials, mascots, horses, dogs, several Grinches, many modern and classic four-wheeled vehicles, and Santa and Mrs. Claus rolled, marched, boogied or were carried along in Crestview’s 1 1/2-hour-long Christmas Parade on Saturday evening up the renovated Main Street, the wide sidewalks of which were filled with throngs of happy kids and adults who caught thrown candy, stuffed animals, beads and other holiday treasures.

County rejects requested land use change for nearly 500-acre site
In a unanimous vote, the Okaloosa County Commission agreed today to deny a request to change the future land use map designation of 498 acres north of Possum Ridge Road, in the Garden City area, from Rural Residential and Agricultural to Low Density Residential.

S.O.: 13-year-old girl threatened to conduct mass shooting at CHS
Vaida Jasmine McDougald, a 13-year-old Okaloosa Online Student who lives in the Deerland area east of Crestview, was arrested at her home on Monday on a second-degree felony charge of making an electronic threat of a mass shooting/terrorist act.
