Crestview woman faces charges of grand theft, elderly exploitation
A Crestview woman has been charged with moving more than $10,000 into her personal bank account from the account of an elderly woman she was supposed to be helping, Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office officials said in a June 9 news release.

Fort Walton teen charged with threatening school shooting
A Fort Walton Beach teenager is facing a second degree felony in connection with threats of a mass shooting made toward students at Baker High School.
The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office has charged 15-year old Caleb McLaughlin of Miracle Strip Parkway with sending written or electronic threats.

Crestview native named to SRU’s dean’s list for spring 2023
Joshua Gearhart of Crestview has made the dean’s list at Slippery Rock University for the spring 2023 semester. The dean’s list consists of SRU undergraduate students who earned an adjusted semester grade-point average of 3.5 or higher, based on a schedule of at least 12 newly attempted and earned credits.
