Early morning crash proves fatal for 66 year old Crestview man

The press release from Florida Highway Patrol stated the accident occurred when the truck was travelling northbound on Stillwell Blvd. north of Monterrey Road at a high rate of speed. According to the release, the truck ran off the roadway and traveled into the tree line.

The 32 year old man sustained minor injuries from the crash, while the 66 year old man was later pronounced deceased at an area hospital.

Florida Highway Patrol said this is an ongoing investigation to determine the driver and cause of the crash.

I-10 crash leaves five seriously injured

The driver was traveling in a 2001 Chevrolet pickup truck eastbound on I-10 with four passengers according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The 29-year-old driver from Panama City failed to maintain control of his vehicle, and it traveled northeast across the grassy median into the westbound lanes, striking a 2009 GMC sport utility vehicle.

The driver of the pickup truck was arrested for driving with an expired license of more than six months while causing serious bodily injuries through the careless or negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

The driver sustained minor injuries, but all passengers in his vehicle were transported to area hospitals with serious injuries. The driver of the SUV, a 33-year-old man from St. Petersburg, Florida, was transported to the hospital with critical injuries.

Pickup truck drives through Tom Thumb

CRESTVIEW — A Tom Thumb convenience store was the scene of a car crash late Monday morning.

The driver of a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck drove through the windows at the front of the store, located at Highway 85 and P.J. Adams Parkway

Crestview Police Officer David Sampson, who responded to the scene, said the driver’s foot became stuck under the pedals of the vehicle and he could not come to a stop in time before crashing through the front of the store.

Witnesses at the scene confirmed there were no serious injuries.
