S.O. nabs 14 suspected online child predators

Members of the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Unit have spent the past two weeks conducting undercover operations designed to identify and arrest online child predators, S.O. officials said today in a news release.

They dubbed this latest effort “Operation Dark Harvest” and it resulted in the arrests of 14 men accused of seeking out children with the purpose of engaging in sexual activity.

“We will never let up on our ongoing work to stop depraved adults who attempt to prey on young people,” Sheriff Eric Aden said in the news release. “Parents can play a crucial role in prevention by monitoring their children’s usage of social media, including activities on gaming systems.”

Arrested for traveling to meet a child for sex, use of a two-way device to facilitate a felony, and use of a computer to seduce, solicit or lure a child are:

  • Marvin Felix, 41
  • Miguel Giron-Diaz, 48
  • Andrae Barrett, 37
  • Kalesha Gullakanti, 30
  • Tyner Akins, 28
  • Emmanuel Rodriguez-Espinosa, 27
  • Sephen Lee Wilaby, 43
  • Melviin Saavedra-Vasquez, 45
  • Harvin Guzman Centeno, 31

Arrested for use of a computer to solicit a guardian of a child, travel to meet a child for sex, and use of a two-way communication device to facilitate a felony are:

  • James Ray Wells, 53
  • Daeshon Fields, 25

Charged with use of a computer to seduce, solicit, or lure a child and use of a two-way communication device to facilitate a felony are:

  • Alexander Wardrop, 31
  • Zachary Clapper, 36
  • James Hall, 60.
