The traffic stop for an obstructed tag (a portion of the tag number was covered in a brown liquid) also revealed three grams of suspected fentanyl near the driver’s seat, S.O. officials said.

The driver, Michael Chessher, 48, of 66 Tilley Road in the Garden City area, was taken to the county jail, where jail staff found another gram of suspected fentanyl hidden in his pants, officials said.

Chessher is charged with trafficking in fentanyl, smuggling contraband into a county detention facility, driving with a suspended license (habitual offender) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
