Council approves resolution on drilling restrictions

The city of Crestview is sending its official support to Washington in hopes of seeing Congress put back the drilling restrictions that were removed from the eastern Gulf of Mexico earlier this year.
The City Council approved a resolution at its most recent meeting supporting ongoing efforts in Washington to restore oil and natural gas drilling restrictions in the gulf.

Anyone that has attended a Laurel Hill home athletic event in the last 15 years has seen a friendly man dressed as a Hobo. That man is Mike McVay, the pastor of First Baptist Church of Laurel Hill.

Sunny weather greeted Veterans Day parade goers as they lined Main St. on Friday to honor those who have served and are now serving our country.
Junior ROTC troops from Crestview High School and Baker School were on hand as well as Veterans Chapters from various organizations.

Cops and Bobbers fishing rodeo set for Nov. 19

Make plans now to attend the Second Annual Cops and Bobbers Fishing Rodeo from 8 -11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19 at Twin Hills Park in Crestview. The event is sponsored by the Crestview Police Department.
The event is open to children and youths up to age 16.

4-H Forest Ecology Course starts strong

The 4-H program in Okaloosa County has kicked off a new program, their Forest Ecology Course.
This course, open to youth ages 5-18, teaches about tree identification, forest health, wildlife identification, forest habitat, plant identification, conservation and more!
