The Okaloosa County School District earned an “A” rating from the Florida Department of Education.

Also, the district had an 88 % graduation rate and made academic strides in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Civics.

Baker School, Crestview High School and Laurel Hill School all had graduation rates over 90 %, with Laurel Hill attaining a perfect 100 % graduation rate.

The OCSD is one of only three districts in the state to have an “A” rating since the state began issuing them in 2014.

“Once again, Okaloosa County has demonstrated what is possible when students, teachers, families and schoolteachers work together toward a common goal,” Superintendent Marcus Chambers said.  “Earning an A rating is a reflection of the high standards we hold ourselves to as a district and our shared belief in continuous improvement.”

Baker, Davidson Middle School and Walker Elementary School all went from a “B” to an “A” this year while Antioch Elementary School has been an “A” school for the last three years.

“The growth and consistency we’re seeing across our schools is a testament to the dedication of our students, teachers, staff and school leaders,” Chambers said.  “I’m proud of the progress we’ve made and even more excited about where we’re headed.”
