Golf club in Crestview turns 60 on Independence Day

As a boy, Jack Patten Jr. warily avoided black bears and other wild animals while working by the fifth hole of the nine-hole Crestview Country Club on Antioch Road.
Crestview resident Jack Patten Jr. holds the golf cart key he received in 1968, when he worked at the then-named Crestview Country Club.
