Gator duo earns all-state football honors

The Baker football team might have fallen short in its quest for another state championship, but the honors keep rolling in for Gator players.

Senior running back Kayleb Wagner and junior lineman Kurt Armstrong have been named Class 1A Rural All-State by FloridaHSfootball.com. In a fan vote, Wagner was named the classification’s Offensive Player of the Year collecting more than 17,000 votes.

At 6-foot-4, 340 pounds, Kurt Armstrong powered his way to All-State recognition as a force on the Baker offensive line.
