Shoal Bass recovery efforts continue trending in the right direction.
In May of this year, biologists from the FWC Fish and Wildlife Research Institute and the Division of Freshwater Fisheries Management released 3,300 1 to 2-inch genetically pure, hatchery-spawned fingerlings into the Chipola River. Those Shoal Bass were spawned at the Blackwater Fisheries Research and Development Center in Holt after two failed attempts.
