The Veterans Memorial stands between the County Courthouse and the North Main Street-Courthouse Terrace intersection.
This year’s city-sponsored ceremony will be presented by VFW Post 5450 and the VFW 5450 Auxiliary. Some chairs will be provided, but attendees are asked to bring one if possible.
“Every year, we come together at the Veterans Memorial to pay tribute to the brave individuals who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our country and our freedom,” Crestview Mayor and retired Air Force member J.B. Whitten said in a May 7 social media post. “No matter if you personally knew someone who served, their courage and sacrifice are deserving of our heartfelt remembrance.
“I invite you to join me and others on Monday, May 26, as we honor and celebrate the heroes who fought valiantly for our nation. Your presence matters as we unite in gratitude and respect for their extraordinary commitment.”
