County erases consideration of potential jail site
To the relief of many residents who live near it, a 70-acre property on the northwest corner of U.S. Highway 90 and Mt. Olive Road east of Crestview will not be purchased by Okaloosa County for the site of the new county jail.
The property stands about seven miles east of State Road 85 and across U.S. 90 from the Shoal River Ranch industrial park.
